JAM OF THE WEEK: Hero The Band – Trouble In My Mind [VIDEO]

I have been keeping tabs on Alternative Rock group Hero The Band for the last couple of years now – ever since their project, “Heroshima”, landed on my radar.  Now signed to LAVA Records/Republic Records, the Georgia based group, comprised of brothers Justin Barnett aka Ocean [vocals, lead guitar], Jerramy Barnett aka Goku Love [vocals, bass], DJ Barnett aka BamBam [vocals, drums], and Nick Barnett aka Nicky Jupiter [guitar, keys], are ready to close 2019 on a high note.

Having initially begun performing together in an R&B group, their tastes began to change when their grandma bought them a karaoke machine.  Quickly falling in love with bands like, Coldplay, Queen, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, Rush, and The Fray – the brother picked up instruments and began to form the idea for Hero the Band.  Since then, they have gone on to release a number of projects, perform hundreds of shows and grow a devoted fanbase around the world.

Most recently Hero The Band have released their new EP, “Back To Myself”, lead by the projects title track and stand out single, “Trouble In My Mind”.  The latter, an anthem for the ages, sees the group bringing a high energy performance along with lyrics about self doubt, perseverance and hope.  Following the EP release, they have also blessed fans with an official video for the fam favorite.  About the video, they say, “Trouble In My Mind’ is about the power of the imagination. We believe in total wellness of the mind, body and soul; this video offers stories of transformation through acknowledgement of personal challenges and the necessity to overcome.

With their new major label partnership and buzz around their new EP, I have no doubt Hero The Band are going to have their biggest year yet in 2020.  While their music May speak for itself, Hero The Band want to also make sure that they are leaving their mark – not as musicians – but as humans.  “We want to show the world everybody’s their own hero.  We come from the same spiritual realm, but physically we’re put here on this planet equipped with different powers and special abilities. It’s about being your own unique individual and embracing who you are.
