Rising producer Hush Forte brings the Summer vibes with new single “DOMINICANA”

Florida-based producer and multi-instrumentalist, Hush Forte is making music unlike anyone else around right now. With his unique blend of soul, hip-hop, and jazz, Hush has developed a sound that feels both unique and reminiscent of fellow genre-defying artists like Kaytranada and early Kendrick Lamar. As he gears up to release the LOOK CLOSELY mixtape later this year, he has dropped his new single “DOMINICANA” (ft. Aaron and Myquale). With its release, he’s further established himself as an emerging artist to keep an eye on. If you’re not familiar with him yet, we think you will be soon.

“DOMINICANA” seamlessly blends a mélange of genres from hip-hop, alternative jazz, and soul to meld into a lush, sonic soundscape reminiscent of Anderson Paak and “99.9%” era Kaytranada. The track revisits the same warm moods and layered textures we were introduced to in Hush’s debut, instrumental LP “Ardor” (2019), and builds on those themes with emotive lyrics, capped off with a blistering guitar solo, played by Hush,

Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, Hush says: “When I made the beat, I was reflecting on my most recent relationship. Remembering some of the earlier moments, this song feels like the uncomfortable moment in a new relationship where I finally admit to myself that this girl has the power to make me feel really good, but also really crazy.”
