Sammy Porter’s throwback house track is far from patchy

I can’t explain how perfect the moment was, listening to this track for the first time in Madison Square Park whilst thirty or so people practiced tai-chi in front of me. Unfortunately, much to my sadness, none of them broke out into a “Napoleon Dynamite” style dance.

London based, Sammy Porter has released a brilliant new track, “A Bit Patchy” on MistaJam’s label, Speakerbox. “I started the track as a DJ edit of the Incredible Bongo Band version, a few sessions later it took on a life of its own. From the second I started playing it out I knew it had to see a release date. Luckily Mistajam slid in my DMs about it and here we are…”

Sammy seamlessly blends the nostalgic old with the exciting new as he marries samples from, “Apache,” with modern day house rhythms. The subtle yet effective panning of the vocal samples really adds to the intensity of the drop as the big bass-line kicks in. With the likes of BBC Radio 1 and Spotify giving this track some well deserved love make sure you check it out below.
