Son Of Cabe Set To Release Absolute Anthem ‘Whistler’

Son of Cabe are the dynamic duo making waves in the DIY music scene this year. The virtuosic duo, made up of Guildford natives Conor McCabe and Jack Holland, is treating our ears this month to an experimental, electronic anthem. ‘Whistler’ is the fresh single from the talented two, set to be released at the end of the month. Having met at university, Son of Cabe started as the solo projects of Conor McCabe. With Jack Holland brought into the picture, Son of Cabe has flourished into its fully realised form – and we love it. Son of Cabe has earned themselves over an immense three hundred and fifty thousand streams on the platform alone. Pretty huge deal for a band that only released their first single in 2018. The duo’s sound reflects the fresh wave of electro-indie pop infiltrating our airwaves this year.

Their upcoming single ‘Whistler’ is an infectious lockdown anthem set to burst onto our playlists on the 27th November. Whilst enduring the draining days of the recent lockdown, one half of the duo Conor McCabe found himself weighed down by the constant chaos and never ending negativity of this year. Evoking an essential escapism we’ve all had to delve into this year, Conor poured this into his writing – ‘Whistler’ was born. Conor says of the track, “I was sick of constantly reading depressing stuff on the news and the negative people I was surrounded by. It just felt toxic, and not the kind of environment I wanted to be a part of. Whistler’s me desperately fantasising about the idea of running away with someone to a better place, a better quality of life”. If there’s anything we can relate to this year, this might just be it. The vocal performance that ‘Whistler’ boasts is sensational. Conor’s voice is intimate enough to entice you and rich enough to relish; a powerful performance from the rising star. Jack’s drums add a drive and deep empowerment throughout the track. Seriously, we might add this one to our running playlist. Having already received BBC Radio airplay, performed at The Great Escape Festival and received rave reviews from the likes of EARMILK and Acid Stag, Son of Cabe are making their name with their undeniable bangers and synth led bops that inaugurate them as an exciting act to explode onto the scene this year.
