Alae’s Summer Fling is a Feel Good Groovy Jam

After initially releasing their single at home New Zealand based group Alae  “Summer Thing” has finally unveiled the single in the US, taken off their upcoming EP due out on Anti Gravity records and produced by Justin Gray (John Legend, Amy Winehouse).

The track’s title goes well with the lyrical content which is about finding someone so perfect, they feel like summer. Frontman Alex Farrell-Davey shares, “It’s about someone who just feels good to be around – it’s as though it’s summer forever when you’re with them.”  Supported by an official music video, Alae once again enlisted award-winning duo Vision Thing to direct the video for “Summer Thing,” who took this concept of a perfect match and ran with it.

This song is so catchy we’re pretty sure it’s going make even goths want to dance on the beach,” says Ian Sweeney of Vision Thing. “So that’s the idea we pitched to the band: a male goth trying to win over a female goth with a sick song and some slick moves. We’re really proud of this video.
