It’s not easy to deal with the news your partner is cheating on you, let alone witness it yourself. For Aman Sheriff, this is a real scenario. Illustrating his emotional response, Sheriff realizes this event on his new single “Let Me Down.”
“Let Me Down” follows Sheriff on his journey to find peace after the shocking news of the affair. He brings us into his inner monologue, prompting insecurities like describing the other man as “better looking than [him],” and the haunting image of this other man and his partner “in his cold embrace.” The song slowly builds beyond the acoustic guitar, adding simple percussion and an echoing electric guitar. Eventually, the tune swells with a layer of background vocals that bring all these elements together and signify Sheriff’s release from his living nightmare.
