Backbeat in the Morning

Sam Woolf & The Como Brothers just hit me with a major vibe in, “On It”.  The new single is the latest cut off of the collaborative project between Sam and the two Como brothers – a new EP titled, “Backbeat in the Morning”, that is set to drop this year.

After first stepping into the spotlight as a contestant on American Idol in 2014, Woolf quickly debuted at #9 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart with his EP, “Pretend”.  The Como Brothers have also been hard at work and have established themselves as premier singer-songwriters working with industry legends and finding their music placed on several TV networks.

Together Sam Woolf & The Como Brothers  find their stride blending influences from Pop, Rock, Blues and Hip Hop into smooth, well crafted jams.  Beyond the songs working – you get the impression that they had a great time creating the music, which for me may be the best part.  If it isn’t fun, what’s the point?

On, “On It”, a bit of classic Funk, mixes with 90’s R&B vocals and an unstoppable groove.  Layers of playful guitar licks, rolling basslines and some slick keys pepper the track while the vocals get drilled into your head and make sure they stay there all day.

While this is in no way my usual vibe, there is no denying this is a flat out feel good jam.  Clean and dynamic production, catchy top lines and stellar vocals – what more do you need?
