Bang Bang: Black Pistol Fire

Toronto raised, Austin based Rock duo Black Pistol Fire has been making waves for several years now.  From being dubbed, “The Next big thing“, by Huffington Post after their 2013 SXSW run, to performing at major festivals like Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch and Governors Ball amongst others, Black Pistol Fire shows no sign of letting up.

Along with the release of their latest album, “Deadbeat Graffiti“, looming, they have just released the lead single, “Lost Cause“, which I have been using to amp myself up for work in the morning for the last few weeks.  Incredibly, the duo is able bring a high-energy performance that is hard to believe comes from only two people.

With Eric Owen on drums an Kevin McKeown on guitar and vocals, “Lost Cause“, is a high speed, intense and gritty anthem.  Stacked guitars join forces, pushing a heavy and relentless assault on you eardrums – only further accentuated by the pumping drums.  The vocals are heavily effected with some slapping delay, verb and a bit of distortion, only adding to their mystique, edge and delivery.

The vocals are catchy as hell and the production is perfectly arranged from beginning to end – grabbing you from the beginning and holding you until the end.  If you’re into Indie Rock, make sure you check this out and grab their new album… it won’t let you down.
