Boundary pushing pop artist Tripping Jupiter releases "Lipstick of the Brave" LP

Today, the boundary pushing pop artist Tripping Jupiter has released Lipstick of The Brave, their debut full length studio LP. In addition to Madstone Rowan (he/they), the singer and multi-instrumentalist behind Tripping Jupiter, this album features bass playing by frequent Bowie collaborator and legendary session musician Gail Ann Dorsey and billboard charting producer Barb Morrison (they/them), a platinum record holder who has worked with the likes of Blondie, Rufus Wainwright, Franz Ferdinand, LP. and many more.

There’s certainly a Bowie-esqe glam rock flair to this debut LP, but it also draws from modern pop artists like Billie Elish and Lady Gaga to avoid sounded dated or stuck in the past, bolstered further by the powerful and uplifting messages in the lyrics. Highlights include singles "We are Starlight" and title track “Lipstick of The Brave'', which was accompanied by a hand-drawn animated short directed by illustrator and two-time Academy Award Nominee Bill Plympton.

Describing the themes of Lipstick of the Brave, Madstone says they see the album as “a celebration of the music and film influences that inspired me and kept me going during the hardest times...The name of the album came from a recognition of celebrating the divine feminine in all of us - of pushing through the gender binary to come to a place where we all can encompass the fullness of being human, and of being a citizen of this planet and this universe. Without restrictions.”
