Swedish artist Boy In Space (Robin Lundbäck) unveils a new chapter with his latest EP, "The Butterfly Affect". Known for his emotionally honest songwriting and polished pop sound, Lundbäck takes a bold turn on this five-track project, blending his Scandinavian roots with Americana influences. Recorded between Sweden and Nashville, the EP reflects a period of personal transformation, with the intentionally altered spelling of the title signaling an inward journey of growth and reflection.

Opening with, “Dancing On Dynamite,” the EP sets a heartfelt tone through acoustic guitar and Western-inspired percussion. Written during his first Nashville session, the track explores themes of heartbreak and freedom. The mood deepens with “Too Much To Lose,” a haunting co-write with Phoebe Ryan that navigates the emotional complexity of an unwanted romance. “Take It Easy,” one of the EP’s most energetic offerings, combines rhythmic bounce with lyrical vulnerability, highlighting Lundbäck’s ability to balance emotional risk with melodic appeal.

Among the unreleased songs, “Burning Down The House” stands out for its unique origin—a spontaneous late-night session in Stockholm that grew into a lush arrangement with help from co-producers NOTD and a surprise violin performance by Oskar Widén’s mother. The project closes on a tender note with “Sway,” a stripped-down reflection on long-distance love written with Ryan and Kris Eriksson. Its raw simplicity underscores the emotional transparency that threads the EP together.

*The Butterfly Affect* marks a clear evolution in Boy In Space’s artistry. Embracing more organic production and country-inspired textures, Lundbäck stays true to his lyrical depth while pushing into new creative territory. It’s a concise but compelling collection that feels both deeply personal and musically expansive—proof that growth, when paired with vulnerability, can lead to some of an artist’s most rewarding work.
