From the moment it was dropped, Pitt’s debut single commanded attention from the “who’s who” of the industry. ‘You’d Better Sell It While You Can‘ combines a FOLK style with an emerging POP trend of male Falsetto and rich tonal harmony. The finger- picked guitar strings groove between the lines of a driving piano riff on his new single ‘Out of The Trees‘ are accented delicately by Callum’s smooth sweet voice. The song is a well rounded, well produced, soothing Indie/Folk ear-worm, which you will surely be singing along with, once it roots itself inside of your head.
Callum Pitt has been featured in a number of blogs such as DIY, DORK, and CRACK IN THE ROAD. After the release of his debut single, subsequent releases found themselves well received and regularly appeared across platforms in Europe and Asia, such as; Spotify’s coveted ‘New Music Friday’ playlists and radio play from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music. Pitt also created a strong live perofrmance due to early tour support slots with acts like Meadowlark, Isaac Gracie, and The Pale White, which ultimately resulted in a place on Free Trade Agency’s roster. He has drawn influence from fellow label bands such as The War On Drugs and Fleet Foxes, as well as, Bon Iver. Callum Pitt recorded his first demos in his bedroom, which received airplay on BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio, showing the artist has production chops, also. “Callum Pitt… harnesses the lilting nature of Americana, producing some intricate guitar licks and roll-off-the-tongue lyrics that converge into a swelling chorus that sweeps you off your feet“.
Callum Pitt is a solid Indie/Folk artist hailing from across the pond and I am eager to hear more from him in the future!
