It’s been a minute since I heard some newness from LA producer casualkimono. First coming into my radar about two years ago via this collab with Sidizen King, I have been keeping tabs ever since.
While his release schedule may have slowed down for a bit, it seems casualkimono has been hard at work since his last release. Now ready to close out 2018 on a high note, he has recently released his latest tune, a remix of Tove Lo‘s “True Disaster”. Not one to be held down by genre tags, casualkimono brings a smooth, Deep House inspired vibe to his latest release with touches of Future Bass and Soul. The dynamic release brings a ton of groove mixed with bright synths, quality drum programming and a deep rooted musicality.
What is promised to be one of several remixes he is going to unload before releasing his originals, his latest release is more than enough to get my hyped about what’s to come. Since it landed in my inbox it has been in heavy rotation and I imagine that is not going to change anytime soon. The only downside here is that it is not available on Spotify since it is an unofficial remix – if Tove Lo knew what was good for them… she’d pick this joint up for an official release ASAP.
