Dance Yourself Clean Rings In The New Year With Enticing Single “Sugar”

Ringing in the New Year carries a lot of traditions. For some, it’s eating 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight or sharing a kiss with a special someone. But for indie-pop-dance-party-turned-music-project Dance Yourself Clean, it’s bringing a crowd of music lovers together. Unable to share this moment in person, they dropped their new single “Sugar” on the very first day of the new year.

The tune is polished with tantalizing lyrics and pulsing rhythms. Evoking the most sinful emotions in an innocent manner, “Sugar” sends you mindlessly dancing into the New Year. Dance Yourself Clean intended this tune for all the souls they couldn’t spend the usual electric night with, saying:

“Normally we’d be spending NYE with our friends and DYC family somewhere… Maybe Los Angeles at Teragram Ballroom or NYC at Baby’s All Right. It kills us that we won’t be able to be together this year celebrating. Setting ‘Sugar’s’ release date for midnight on the east coast and 9pm on the west coast is our way of being together with our DYC family across the nation. It may seem silly, but it means something to us and hopefully them too.”

Dance Yourself Clean started in Seattle (2013) as an indie dance party that grew into the first touring dance party in North America. After moving to Los Angeles to expand the party and create their own record label (Lights & Music Collective) and producing for other artists for years, “DYC” decided to turn their party into a music project. Releasing original music and remixes using the party’s moniker “Dance Yourself Clean”.
