Often times, when it comes to music – less is more. In my opinion, opting for a more minimal approach on the production end often leads to a more emotional and moving vocal performance and without the production taking the lead, the songwriting and mix are what make all the difference.
US based duo Dean St. have recently released their new tune, “You and I”, and it is beautifully simplistic. The classic duet backed simply by rhythmic ukulele, allows the powerful harmonies and meaningful lyrics to cut through and hit deep. The power in this tune comes from the execution and overall feeling that it portrays.
Some Pop undertones and catchy top lines combine with Indie bedroom jam vibes to create the uplifting and inspirational feel behind the track. This one is a mood booster for sure.
