Just when you think Sweden can’t deliver anymore incredible Pop artists to the world, 18 year old Ellen Krauss lands in my inbox with her new single, “On The Bus”, and once again helps to set the bar way too high for other Pop artists world wide. Sweden is the undeniable home of Pop and Ellen Krauss is ready to make waves.
Having played guitar since the age of four, while secretly writing songs in her room from then until now – Ellen Krauss was already receiving awards and praise from artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, Max Martin, and Laleh before she released her first song. Now, after releasing her debut single, LGBTQ acceptance anthem, “The One I Love,” in April, Ellen Krauss is preparing the release her debut EP and has just unleashed, “On The Bus”.
Her latest offering is a teenage love song about unrequited love that sees the fast rising singer/songwriter deliver a pristine and emotive vocal performance over a clean and minimal, guitar driven production. From an anthemic hook to incredibly catchy toplines and easy to relate lyrics – Ellen Krauss once again proves herself as an artist to watch in 2019 and beyond.
Drawing inspiration from diverse artists such as Ed Sheeran, King Princess, Dire Straits, and Bruce Springsteen. She is a playful, charismatic, and emotional storyteller who uses her songwriting to challenge the norms that today’s youth is fighting. She is outspoken about LGBTQ equality, women’s rights, and pushes back against the traditional social structures that a young girl should fit into.
