China Bamboo might just be our favourite up and coming band this winter season. With their unique brand of ‘bubble-gum’ pop, the four-piece group are storming the scene with their ambient anthems. Made up of four life long friends, the Brighton-based band utilise every inch of their collective musical magic to make a sound unique to them – and we love it. Their latest single ‘Ambivalence (For You)’ is a bitter sweet sentimental song set to get you in your feels this month. It comes off the back of their recent song ‘We’ve Disconnected’ – a track rich with slick guitar counterparts and a catchy chorus that will have you hooked. The group have even gained BBC Introducing attention, as they gain momentum in the industry going into next year.
‘Ambivalence (For you)’ is a sensational new single from the young group. With all the self-awareness and matured sound of a band going on thirty years, China Bamboo have their released their most fully realised track to date. Having birthed the idea of ‘Ambivalence (For You)’ years ago, lead singer Ruby’s concept was given a new lease of life when bandmate Danny discovered this hidden gem this year; Ruby describes that “Danny’s passion and vision for the song was a turning point.” Whatever led to this single reaching our playlists, we couldn’t be more grateful. Boasting a soundscape of slick guitar solos, driving drum breaks and pounding bass, ‘Ambivalence (For You)’ showcases the incredible vocal talent of front woman Ruby. Whilst China Bamboo might be feeling uncertain in the narrative of this track, we’re no where near ambivalent on our love for China Bamboo.
