Find Your “Summer of Love” with Fancy Feelings’ New EP

Brooklyn’s newest disco band, Fancy Feelings just released five of the summer’s hottest dance tracks on (literally) the hottest weekend of summer. Their EP, “Summer of Love,” is out now on BonFire Records, and features a stellar line-up of featured vocalists.

Talent like Australian songwriter, Lenka, and dark-folk champion, Mammals, pepper this groovy EP with melodies as catchy as the common cold. Meanwhile, veteran producers, Oli Chang and Zac Colwell, chop and process studio-recorded pan-flutes, saxophones, synths, and drums (no software here) in the style of Daft Punk or Tiger & Woods. Highlights from the EP include the title track, “Summer of Love (feat. Lenka),” a well balanced blend of disco, reggae, and pop influences, and “NYLA (feat. Anya Marina),” an ode to wanderlust and the need for change.

Fancy Feelings is really two intertwined projects come together in a refreshing new format. The duo is comprised of Zac Colwell of the indie-ambient-electronic band Fancy Colors, and Oli Chang of Animal Feelings & world renown dream-pop band, High Highs. The two producers have worked closely for several years on their individual projects, but according to Chang, “Fancy Feelings is really a way for us to keep music fun, it is purposefully whimsical.” While the rest of their catalogue is certainly beautiful, Fancy Feelings is the prime choice for this summer’s remaining pool parties, and sunset happy hours.
