It wasn’t too long ago since London artist Hamzaa first jumped on to our radar with her stunning debut single, “Stranded Love”.
Since it’s release, her debut has been streamed over 400K times across Spotify and Apple Music and has been supported by BBC 1Xtra (DJ Target/Twin B/Sian Anderson) and Beats 1. Now ready to show the world what she is made of, Hamzaa has recently released her follow up single, “You”, and it is a brilliantly soulful and touching tune. Produced by Jacob Attwooll (Craig David), the new tune relies on beautiful acoustic guitar, muted keys, bass and not much more to set the tone.
Once again, what I find most impressive about the new tune is Hamzaa, who delivers a dynamic and memorable performance that cuts deep. Lyrically the tune touches on lost love – despite of all that could go wrong, in the end the love between the two parties is undeniable. Lush harmonies and beautiful melodies come together over the mellow and minimal production allowing Hamzaa to really hit home with every word she sings.
So far Hamzaa is two for two and I have no doubt whatever comes next will only help to further cement her as an artist to watch.
