Height Takes On Kovic’s ‘Drown’ [VIDEO]

Sometimes there is nothing better than a bright, soulful, summer jam.  Based in Essex, label owner and buzzing artist Kovic has recently dropped a new track for a tune that I just can’t get enough of.

Written along with Jamie Scott (So Far Away, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Justin Beiber, Diplo, Ed Sheeran), “Drown”, was recently given a remix treatment and delivered along with a fresh video that only helps to accentuate the vibe.

Enlisting Height for remix duties, Kovic’s songwriting and vocals are still at the heart of the release, while Height kicks things up a notch.  With his recent collaboration with Felix Jaehn reaching over the 100M+ mark, Height’s ability to create emotional yet groovy productions is undeniable.  For, “Drown”, bright plucks and deep pads take over the verses, allowing finger snaps to keep the rhythm and the vocals to shine.

Built for summer, the track picks up into an uplifting hook accentuated by big string ensembles, plucked guitar riffs and some four on the floor.  Reminiscent of something Clean Bandit may have released, the remix is musical, inspirational, clean and dynamic.  While there is no doubt that it is easier to deliver a great remix when the original song is so well written, Height made sure to leave his mark on this one.

This one will be in heavy rotation for me for some time to come.
