High Tropics Heat Things Up in Time for AUS Summer

Hailing from Queensland, Australia, singer/songwriter Josh Stewart is no stranger to success.  Having been creating music for most of his life, Josh Stewart has played a part in many acts throughout the years, most notably as part of the now defunct Garage Rock outfit The Ninjas.  While that group was able to build a devoted fanbase and rack up some impressive accolades, Josh Stewart remained hard at work on the side, creating tunes in his home studio, developing a sound all his own.

With the fall of The Ninjas, Josh Stewart found solace in the music that he had been working on outside of the group – eventually giving birth to his latest endeavor, High Tropics.  Dubbed as “infectious garage pop” by Rolling Stone magazine, High Tropics have been able to garner some major support since inception thanks to break out tunes like, “You Never Made it Easy”, and, “Wait for You”, in 2018.

Riding high from a massive year which included their first international gig, impressive streaming numbers and some massive tastemaker support, High Tropics seem to only just be getting started.  Throughout 2019, the group has made sure to keep fans holding tight with a number of stand out singles, most recently unveiling one of my personal favorites, “Better Days”.  The gritty, distorted, guitar driven track features dusty vocals, an un-ending energy and an anthemic hook that make sure this one connects on all fronts.

While the new single feels incredibly indie, there is also a polish on the track that helps it cross over to the masses.  If you are into hard-hitting yet totally vibey Rock tunes, you’re going to want to give this one a go.
