LA based producer Icon South has been making some waves over the last couple of years. From racking up credits behind the scenes working with artists like Trippie Redd, to releasing original slaps with friend and collaborator Neko Savvy, Icon South regular delivers bombs – and we can’t seem to get enough.
Following up on his recent single, “Lay Low”, with New Boyz member Legacy, Icon South is now back with his new bang, “Rolling Paper”. Expanding his horizons, Icon South has also begun to incorporate his own vocals and lyrics into his tunes, making him more of a front line artist than a behind the scenes mastermind. On his new self-produced single, Icon South bring a bit more emotion and swag than I’ve heard on singles past.
The new tune is a melodic, commercial leaning Trap infused gem that brings catchy af hooks, a laid back appeal hard hitting drum programming that perfectly compliments the moody vocals. One thing is for sure – this is a jam I’ll be rocking for sometime. Do yourself a favor and keep an eye on Icon South.
