While Weslee may be a new name in the scene, they have been making major waves. Since the release of their single, “Bathwater”, I have been properly hooked. Building a sound around slick, dynamic production and seductive and vibrant vocals, Weslee has already seen over 12M worldwide in their short career.
With the release of their upcoming 7-track EP, “F-9”, on the horizon (June 8), Weslee has just dropped a new single from the project – and it is a jam. On, “Sweat Dreams”, they find the perfect blend of Soul, Pop and Future R&B. The mid-tempo tune finds a perfect groove with mellow keys, funky embellishments and saucy vocals all coming together to create an undeniably sexy tune.
As with their previous releases, this one carries that signature Weslee vibe – A combination of intriguing production and introspective lyrics topped with solid toplines and a clean mix and master. For me, it is their vibe, originality and execution that makes everything they drop work. Clearly putting as much time into planning and plotting as they are into the actual creation of the music, Weslee seems to have a clear end game in mind.
Be on the look out for their new EP, I have high hopes that it may be one of the best drops this year.
