JAM OF THE WEEK: Sea Girls – Open Up Your Head

UK based 4-piece Sea Girls are preparing for a massive 2019 and have been hard at work getting the ball rolling.  Having just wrapped their headlining tour that saw them bring their high-energy live show around the UK from Oxford to London, Sea Girls are pushing straight into festival season in a major way.

With their penchant for creating anthemic hooks surrounded my impressive production and relatable lyrics, it is no surprise that Sea Girls have been able to garner support from the top down.  Coming out of 2018, the group was named on the BBC’s Sound Of 2019 list, where they were not only one of only two unsigned acts but the only band to be included.

Following up on their last smash single, “All I Want to Hear You Say”, Sea Girls have recently unleashed a new tune titled, “Open Up Your Head”.  Premiered by Annie Mac as her Hottest Record, the new offering is an absolute monster that once again proves the buzzing group to be ready for the big leagues.  About the tune, lead singer  Henry Camamile says, “Open Up Your Head’ is about being your own worst enemy but having someone believing in you unconditionally. Some people struggle with self-esteem, some people party too hard, and some people feel stuck from making wrong choices. It can be crucial having someone who offers a hand out of those places we don’t want to remain in.

With their long awaited debut album due out later this year (but not yet announced), Sea Girls are without a doubt a group to keep an eye on.  Make sure you give them a follow on socials and if you get a chance – check them out at one of the many festivals they have locked in this season.
