Alt/R&B artist Jay Warren first came on to our radar with his debut, “Closer”, just last year, but Jay has been grinding for a while. With credentials already under his belt like, having written on tracks featuring David Archuleta, Common Kings, Taylor Bennett, and James The Mormon, while also having performed along 2 Chainz, Sage The Gemini, and T-Pain, Jay Warren is a threat both in front of and behind the mic.
Since then I have been keeping an eye out for the newness – and Jay has just delivered. This time around he has teamed up with James the Mormon for, “Amaze Me”, a smooth, rhythmic yet low key R&B leaning jam. Opening the tune Jay soars over some classic whirling keys before it picks up with a bubbling bassline and some trippy vocal chops. To add a bit of an edge, James comes in with a slick verse and quickly kicks things up on top of the updated production.
The dynamic release sways back and forth from dreamy, atmospheric sections into pumping and groovy breaks. This tune is everything you need, a sexy touch with just enough groove to get down.
About the track Jay says, “I think we live in a time that is so polarized we forget how similar our experiences and emotions really are. I am motivated by the belief that all people, regardless of background or circumstance, can relate through music, and this track is just one small part of that process.”
