If you are not yet familiar with K.A.A.N. (Knowledge Above All Nonsense) you must be asleep at the wheel. For the last several years he has been dropping wavy Hip Hop bombs centered around his lyrical deftness and top-notch flow. In my personal opinion, it’s only a matter of time before he hits the big leagues, so hop on board now.
His latest project, “Pure Intentions”, is a 15-track album in collaboration with multiple-time Grammy nominated producer Dem Jointz – a follow up to their 2017 collaborative project. “The Black Blood LP”. On, “Pure Intentions”, the duo resolves to cutting out frills and publicity stunts and focusing on the music itself.
The lead single from the project, “Genaside”, is a supercharged thought provoking jam that sees K.A.A.N. delivering an unstoppable and hard to imitate flow while tackling issues based around race and the current cultural climate. Over a minimal production that brings an absolute head knocking bop thanks to hypnotic piano stabs and massive 808’s, K.A.A.N. Once again shows off his originality and overall Hip Hop prowess. Perfectly executed, “Genaside”, is a track that I’m going to be knocking for years to come.
