Keep an Eye on Caitlyn Scarlett

Born and raised in a small village called Bray, in the UK, fast rising Indie Pop artist Caitlyn Scarlett is looking to close out a stellar year with the release of her new single, “Happy When“.   After releasing her acclaimed EP at the beginning of the year, the new offering is a taste of what’s to come from her follow up project due out in 2018.

Caitlyn, a self-taught guitarist and pianist raised in a musical household, started writing her own songs at the age of nine and left home at seventeen for the bright lights of London.  The move seems to have paid off.  She has already found support in the likes of Clash, Wonderland, The 405, Huw Stephens, Radio X and BBC Introducing.

Happy When”, is a moody Electronic Pop tune that also showcases a bit of the singers soul.  With total vocal control, melodies sway with the production, easily caught in your head by the end of the song.  A bit of edge both vocally and on the production end make this one stand out.

About the release, Caitlyn says, “Living in a world where pop culture, media and advertisers encourage us daily to feel insufficient and unattractive, combined with the multidimensional meat-market of the dating scene today, Happy When is the study and confession of a compulsion I think most can relate to. Finding romance, companionship and purpose in the arms of another is a goal most of us keep in our hearts, but a mentality I recently find myself questioning in my early twenties as I realise the importance of a good relationship with oneself first.
