Born in Hawaii and based in SoCal, Mahalo has been raking in the digits while wowing audiences worldwide. While he only launched the project in 2015, he has been able to garner support from artists such as Hardwell, Avicii, Mark Knight, Mike Mago, EDX, Liquid Todd and Blonde while being released on esteemed labels such as Bunny Tiger, Armada Music, Toolroom Records, Enormous Tunes, Midnight In Paris, Homerun House, Insomniac’s In/Rotation. Beyond his releases, he has also secured slots to rock stages at EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, Nocturnal, Countdown, Corona Electric Beach, Groove Cruise, SpaceYact, Audio, Sound and supporting artists such as Klingande, Sam Feldt, Autograph and Martin Solveig.
Making sure to pay homage to the jams that have come before him, he also makes sure to maintain a focus on bringing something fresh and unique to the scene. His latest release, “Here With Me”, features budding 21 year old Toronto vocalist Kadiri James and brings a booming yet low key and emotional vibe.
While soft keys fill the soundscape, Kadiri soars on the vocals with bright melodic plucks adding a bit of energy. The track quickly transforms from something resembling a ballad into a pumping Deep House inspired bomb thanks to a powerful drop. From beginning to end the track transforms thanks to a smart and perfectly executed arrangement.
The dynamic release brings the best of both worlds – emotional melodies and a danceable groove. Yet another solid release to add to his catalog, Mahalo shows no sign of letting up… and we hope he doesn’t.
