Now this track is going straight in my basket. The off-set stuttering synth rhythms sound like a roulette wheel keeping you on the edge. Delicate clicks and pops flutter around the periphery until the bass drum kicks in and I can picture myself in the euphoric early hours of the morning dancing with strangers I’ll probably never see again. Nothing is blurred in this track, the crystal clarity really is the icing on the cake.
“Split Wick” comes from LA based house and techno producer Durante and is the second track off his equally as beautiful EP, “Unraveled.”
Durante has taken something so raw and simplistic and turned it into the sublime. Premiered by the likes of Pete Tong & Deep House Amsterdam it’s pretty safe to predict this track will go far.
