Toronto MC Omar Linx just dropped some heat in collaboration with Electronic/Hip Hop producer Kname.
The hard-hitting Hip Hop joint features Omar spitting the realness, reflecting on his life, and realizing there is no other way, but to face down the obstacles in his way. As he says, “that’s the way the liquor pour.” The inspirational tune reinforces all of our self-doubt with a message to keep on keeping on cloaked in solid rhyme schemes and quality lyricism.”
With Kname handling things on the production end, be brings a dark and dynamic vibe to the track with low rumbling basses, ethereal vocal textures and verbed out drums. Allowing the space for Omar Linx to get his point across, the production is perfectly fitted to the vocals to make maximum impact. While the production techniques may be updated fort the times, the tune hits like a classic New York Hip Hop banger with scratch like vocal chops and huge horn hits.
About the release Kname says, “I have wanted to work with Omar for ages and this is the first collab we did so I had to make this track just right for him. there are maybe 6 different versions of this I made and Omar picked this one. we did have a music video too, which we shot in a mansion on Lake Toronto, but the video guy straight up disappeared after the shoot. despite that little setback, its seeing the light of day now and I’m stoked!”
