Irish 4-piece phenomenon Picture This almost seem to have come out of nowhere. Just last year the group, lead by frontman Ryan Hennessy released their debut self-titled album to critical acclaim – launching them into position as the top selling Irish act in both 2017 and 2018. Certified triple-platinum in Ireland, it held the #1 spot overall in the country for four weeks, helping to propel a busy, sold-out touring schedule since.
Now preparing to release their sophomore effort, “MDRN LV”, in 2019, Picture This have teamed up with producer Jayson Dezuzio [Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors], to push the boundaries of their sound. To get people excited for the new project, they have recently released their new single, “One Drink”, and it sees the quartet delving into some uncharted sonic territories.
On the new single, a funky production driven by guitar and synths sets the tone while Ryan captivates on the vocals. Finding a perfect blend between acoustic and electronic elements, the track is designed to appeal to the masses. Bouncy, danceable, and anthemic – this is Alt-Pop done right. Rock inspired vocals mix with Pop leaning toplines, lush, dynamic production and an all out groove to create a memorable release.
While Picture This may be massive at home, it seems they are now looking to take the band worldwide – which should be totally attainable if they can keep out pumping tunes like this. Make sure you check this one out and hang tight for their new album dropping February 15th.
