RKCB’s New Chill Jam, “Till We’re In The Sea”

Ethereal, imaginative, and epic, “Till We’re In The Sea” is a chill jam with a message that has the power to create substantial and critical impact. LA’s soulful R&B/dream pop duo,  just announced their new Shores EP, which tackles global warming and climate change with their new single “Till We’re In The Sea.” “Till We’re In The Sea” leaves listeners feeling harmonious with their new alchemic, R&B, and dreamy synth-pop sound, which results in an unparalleled sound.

The R&B and alt pop duo stated that, “Till We’re in the Sea was inspired by zooming out of our everyday experience with nature and trying to look at a larger timeline. We wanted to ask some bigger questions about our relationship with nature as a species, as we’ve evolved, and what the next phase of that is. As you grow with something, whether a partner, a place, anything really, it’s important to step back and take stock, and this song was us trying to do that with the world around us, and see what we’re bringing to the table.” RKCB proved they were more than just a gifted musical duo, but artists who use their talents to challenge their listeners with their music to think about critical issues. The duo used their ability to create otherworldly and lush pop synth sounds in order to make this new epic, modern, and reality bending track. “Till We’re In The Sea” has already gained notoriety and acclaim from major publications such as, Billboard and NYLON who say the track is “pure ecstasy… nothing short of lush” (NYLON).

RKCB’s upcoming Shores EP consists of six tracks that continues to explore issues of global warming, which both members are incredibly passionate about, while also delving deep into humans and their relationship with nature. The duo’s intellectualism is heavily apparent since they even cite that their main inspiration for the album came from Alan Watts’ book Out Of Your Mind, which is a philosophical book about coming to one’s senses.

RKCB is an LA-based production duo comprised of Riley Knapp and Casey Barth, whose sound fuses neo-soul and modern electronic R&B in order to create new and fresh tracks that continue to raise the bar for artists. Accomplished producers and songwriters in their own right, having worked with Tinashe, Julia Michaels, Kacy Hill and more (along eclipsing 100 million Spotify streams to their name alone), RKCB is poised to have a massive year all their own in 2019,  In the lead-up to the release of the EP,

RKCB is currently on a huge co-headlining tour of North America with fellow LA-based alt-pop artist Shoffy, which they’ve dubbed their See For Yourself tour (all dates and tickets here).
