Scottish singer-songwriter Rosie H Sullivan returns with her most buoyant release yet in "Don’t You Wanna Feel It," the third single from her upcoming collection, "Phases", set to arrive October 2nd. Following the warm reception of, “Lazy River”, and “Porcupine”, this latest track shows a brighter, more expansive side to Sullivan’s songwriting. Written during a creative trip to Copenhagen with Bastian Langebæk — known for his work with Olivia Dean — the collaboration proved pivotal. “Getting the chance to work with Bastian was a huge moment for me – I’ve admired his work for so long. From the moment we started writing, the chemistry was just there. Everything flowed so naturally,” Rosie shares.
The result is a shimmering, life-affirming track rooted in the joy of emotional renewal. Sullivan channels the moment when a lingering heaviness finally lifts, allowing space for lightness and movement to take hold. "I’d been feeling low for a while, and then I landed in Copenhagen, a city I’d fallen in love with as a teenager,” she recalls. “That next morning, walking to the studio, coffee and pastry in hand, I realised how far I’d come. It was like the sadness just lifted. I felt alive again and was itching to express that.” Built around an irresistible hook and organic, sun-soaked production, “Don’t You Wanna Feel It”, blends heartfelt narrative with an upbeat pulse that invites the listener to embrace the full spectrum of feeling.
Playfulness weaves through the track as well, most memorably in the, brass section, which is actually Rosie and Bastian’s own voices processed into trumpet and saxophone tones. “We just started making trumpet and saxophone sounds with our mouths – messing around, really. After a few plug-ins, they ended up staying in the song. It’s fun and weird and feels like a secret joke embedded in the track,” she says. This willingness to experiment without losing emotional authenticity makes the single a standout in Sullivan’s catalog. As part of, "Phases", “Don’t You Wanna Feel It”, represents movement, power, and freedom — a clear step forward in her artistic journey. Fans will get to experience it live when Rosie headlines The Glad Cafe in Glasgow on September 4th, her first major Scottish show since releasing new material.
