Rude GRL is Funky Fresh

ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS…. BE ORIGINAL!

What I love most about this joint, “That’s The Way It Is (Survival Of The Sickest)“, from Wales based Rude GRL, is how funky fresh it is.

I’m not going to lie, it took me a few listens to get it, but since then I’ve had it on repeat. The production is super simple, almost sounding like it was made on a vintage Casio and run through an 8-bit processor… and I love everything about it.  The star of the show is for sure her vocals, viciously spitting fast-fire bars from beginning to end.  The hook is like an anthem – for what I’m not sure – but you will 100% be yelling, “It’s like that, and that’s the way it is“.

With a totally original vibe, this may not be perfect for everyone, but if you appreciate the weird & quirky risk takers of the world… this is your jam.

Here’s to hoping Rude GRL keeps doing her thing.
