SEA GIRLS Release Their Debut Album- ‘OPEN UP YOUR HEAD’

UK based INDIE ROCK band, SEA GIRLS, have dropped their highly anticipated debut album ‘OPEN UP YOUR HEAD’, following the successful release of multiple singles that have found their places among the radio waves AND its 14 Tracks of Indie/Synth/Pop bliss! The album was released by Polydor Records and produced by Larry Hibbitt, in London. Prompting a UK, sold out, headline tour, due largely to their success and critical acclaim.

With songs written by members Henry Camamille (vocals, guitar) and Rory Young (lead guitar) , the album finds a perfect balance between the darkness of inner turmoil through lyrics and the semblance of hope that comes with the light, colorful and warm tones of the bands rock/synth melodies and intoxicating guitar riffs. Camamille takes the spotlight with his introspective and personal lyrics, emerging as a true artist and story-teller. The quality and commitment to songwriting is evident from start to finish on SEA GIRLS debut album. Every single track on the album has a way of nestling into your cranium and making a home. With each listen, new subtle nuances in the songs come to light and the songs take on a new life every time you hear them, both lyrically and sonically. Their sound is both unique and reminiscent of The Killers –Brandon Flowers and a softer Frank Turner, but this is no knock off band, believe that! SEA GIRLS have created something new and wonderful while sticking true to influence and roots. Heart can be heard in both the writing and performances of these songs and the album, in total. “I don’t buy all the love and flowers stuff. Real relationships fall apart, you get hurt and you have to deal with it so you do what you have to do to get over it. I think what has saved me is music.”– says Henry.

SEA GIRLS are known for energetic performances and their fans will be able to enjoy them, while they tour in November and January. They have multiple sold out shows on their November UK headlining tour, including being one of only a few bands to sell out London’s O2 Academy Brixton. They can also be caught thrilling fans in a number of album launch shows, offering a more intimate setting. One such show will be performed at Manchester Gorilla – a venue recently saved from closure.

“There is something timely about this record…they’ve managed, rather impressively, to capture something of the strange, stultifying state of contemporary youth” – The Guardian (Album Of The Week)

“‘Open Up Your Head’ is a heartfelt beast that isn’t afraid of dreaming big. Introspective anthems for anxious times; no wonder it’s connecting with fans” – NME ★★★★

“Sea Girls started off the year reaching for the stars. They might end it walking amongst them” – Dork ★★★★★

‘Sea Girls hit that sweet spot between fan-rousing anthems + personal lyricism” – CLASH (8/10)

“With every listen, each song takes on a new richness, becoming something that will simultaneously become the sound of summer” – The Line Of Best Fit
