By now, you may have heard the name Sofia Mills from her 2018 hit "Coffee Breath", which exploded on TikTok and currently amasses nearly 100 million streams on Spotify. Now, Mills is gearing up to release her debut album entitled 'Baby Magic' and we couldn't be happier to get a taste of it with her single, "Wish I Would".
"Wish I Would" carries Mills' signature narrative folk aesthetic, but nicely ties in tasteful hints of breathy sound design, wrapping the track in a blanket that makes you want to grab a cup of tea and sit by a warm fire.
“I wrote ‘Wish I Would’ when I was in a difficult romantic relationship, with someone who would not give me the effort I deserved.... It's a manifestation; a hope for my future self to be better and treat myself with more care and respect.”
The track and its lyrics give listeners a sense of hope that they can be truer to themselves and get the same respect that they give to others.
