Song for the weekend – Nobody Else by Young Lire

Smooth pop grooves from the other side of the world.

Directly from Auckland, New Zealand, Indie–Pop quintet Young Lire gift us with an unmissable track that is perfect for weekend partying. The song reminisces of Phoenix and The Strokes as Jordan Curtis‘s (lead singer) voice seemingly resembles Julian Casablancas and Thomas Mars while significantly creating his own personal style.

The song is inviting, entertaining and one that you will have on repeat from the first play. Its funky bass rhythms infused with disco beats and groovy synths drives the song all throughout until its blurry but perfectly well executed outro. This song is perfect for the fans of the aforementioned Phoenix and The Strokes but also for fans of Indie-Disco and Nu/Disco.  The song is the band’s first release of the year and hopefully not the last.
