Los Angeles-based artist SOZI makes a striking entrance with, "BLOOM", her debut EP and the first chapter of her ambitious four-part, "Seasons", project. Entirely written, produced, and co-mixed by SOZI herself, "BLOOM", is a refreshing fusion of intimate storytelling, Alt-Pop soundscapes, and personal introspection. Across just four tracks, SOZI crafts a vivid emotional arc that captures the messy, liberating, and necessary evolution of personal growth — from hesitation to empowerment.
Though this is her first EP, SOZI is already proving herself a creative force. Previous singles like, "Skipping Stones", landed on Netflix’s, "Temptation Island", while, "The Brink", earned a spot on Apple Music’s *Work From Home* playlist. With, "BLOOM", she takes a confident step forward — not just as a vocalist, but as a producer and creative visionary in full control of her sound and story.

The record opens with, "Seconds", an upbeat yet emotive bop that combines undeniable melodies, a pumping, foot-stomping energy that you can't help but latch on to. SOZI floats atop and delivers an impressive performance that goes from dreamy breaks to sassy verses, while carefully restrained production helps to capture the playful chaos hidden beneath. It’s a chill but powerful opener that perfectly sets the tone for whats to come next.
"Fall Away", offers a gentle release, with a bit of a Folk undertone thanks to the progression and vocal treatment. Soft layers of synths, keys, percussion and vocals all meld together to create an uplifting and ethereal jam that will have your blood pressure dropping and that frown turning upside down. Lyrically the song encapsulates the power of loosening your grip on past versions of yourself and finally letting go. It’s a subtle yet cathartic transition and reason 2for2 to make sure you give this EP a listen.

The third track, "Just For A Minute", serves as the centerpiece — and deservedly so. A shimmering blend of Alt-Pop and cinematic ambiance, the track captures the longing to escape mental noise and find fleeting moments of peace. There’s something deeply resonant hidden behind the dreamy performance, creating a floating sensation that perfectly reflects the track’s emotional core. It’s an immediate standout — the kind of song you return to when you need to breathe.
Closing the project is, "Set Me Free", a triumphant anthem of personal reclamation. With pulsing beats and soaring vocals, it delivers a fearless statement of self-worth and a sense of clarity and purpose. It’s the sonic embodiment of choosing yourself — no longer asking for space, but taking it. As the EP’s final note, it lands with impact, closing out the project on a high of emotional clarity.

To mark the release, SOZI hosted, "The Bloom Experience", an intimate afternoon tea event at Madeline Garden in Pasadena. The event included an acoustic performance of the EP with harp, violin, and guitar, alongside curated high tea, gift bags, and a gathering of creatives. Much like the EP itself, the experience was intentional, immersive, and filled with warmth — a celebration of music, community, and the season of renewal.
With, "BLOOM", SOZI opens a door into a more liberated, grounded version of herself. This project isn’t simply a collection of well-produced tracks (though it certainly is that); it’s a reflection of inner transformation told through honest lyrics, layered arrangements, and a clear artistic voice. If this is just the first season, we can’t wait to see what she grows next.
