Spada Drops Ominous Groove ‘Dark Gemini’

Italian DJ/Producer Spada has been making some major waves over the last several years thanks in part to some massive releases including official remixes for the likes of: ZHU “Faded”, Robin Schulz “Show Me Love”, Klingande Feat. Broken Back “Riva”, Roger Sanchez Feat. Stealth “Remember Me”, Rhodes “Worry”, Ayla “Wish I Was”, Above & Beyond Feat. Zoë Johnston “We’re All We Need”, Fritz Kalkbrenner “Void”.

Quickly becoming one of the most sought after DJ/producers in Italy, Spada has shown no sign of letting up.  Having already racked up over 60M streams to date, Spada has recently made his debut on Perfect Havoc with  his new single, “Dark Gemini”, featuring Anna Leyne… and it is a moody, grooving jam.

Opening with some ambient textures and rumbling, sustained basslines, the vocals are given all the room they need to shine.  An ominous and haunting vibe take hold from the very beginning, setting the tone for the rest of the record.  Making sure the release is still able to connect on the dancefloor, the track gives way to bubbling, melodic Deep House basslines while catchy vocal melodies take hold.

What I love most about the dynamic release is the mix. Every element sits perfectly in its place.  Whether it is an intriguing background layer (is that a baby crying?) to the never ending, pulsating strings that sit a mile away, to the pumping bassline that hits you right in the gut – Spada makes perfect use of every element in the mix… no easy task for even some of the most seasoned vets.
