Mancunian singer-songwriter Lusaint continues her remarkable rise with the release of her brand-new EP "The Apothecary (Pt. 1)", led by the standout single “Lie To Yourself.” Known for blending her jazz and soul roots with a modern pop sensibility, Lusaint has built an impressive reputation with over 80 million streams, widespread radio support, and a sold-out UK headline tour earlier this year. Growing up inspired by her parents’ jazz and blues collection, she began by performing covers of legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone before her breakthrough moment in 2019, when her rendition of En Vogue’s "Don’t Let Go" became the UK’s most Shazam’d song in a single day. With “Lie To Yourself,” she continues to push her artistry forward, offering one of her most powerful releases to date.
A striking contrast to her recent soulful single “Summertime,” “Lie To Yourself” bursts with a driving rhythm and infectious energy. Lusaint’s commanding vocals glide effortlessly over the track’s up-tempo groove, weaving together elements of soul and pop into a cathartic anthem. Speaking about the song, she explains: “It’s about loving the person who hurt you — and finally seeing them clearly, though you still can’t let go.” That tension between strength and vulnerability fuels the track’s emotional pull, allowing Lusaint to deliver both a summer-ready anthem and a deeply personal narrative. The result is a song that feels both universally relatable and distinctly her own, capturing the duality of heartbreak and resilience.
The single sets the tone for "The Apothecary (Pt. 1)", which Lusaint describes as “a collection of songs about heartbreak, healing, and starting over. The Apothecary follows "Self Sabotage" — this time choosing to rebuild instead of break down.” Her ability to balance raw emotion with vibrant musicality has already seen her take the stage at Montreux Jazz Festival, support artists like JP Cooper and Michael Kiwanuka, and prepare for an upcoming arena tour with Calum Scott. With “Lie To Yourself,” Lusaint proves once again that she is more than a rising star — she is a bold voice capable of turning personal struggle into songs that resonate on a global scale.
