Suzi Island Teases Debut EP with ‘Halo’

With the UK being the hotbed for fresh talent that it is, It never takes long for new acts to burst into my radar.  My most recent favorite find comes in the form of Brighton based 3-piece group Suzi Island.  Fronted by Hugh Reilly-Smith, the group of 20 year olds is rounded out by life-long friends and housemates Matt Carter & Carlie Randall Smith.

Since releasing their debut single, “Show Me The Way”, the group has been riding a wave including festival performances, BBC Introducing support and sync placements.  Now prepared to kick things up a notch in 2019, the trio has begun to tease their forthcoming 5-track debut EP with the lead single, “Halo”.  The angsty Alt-Pop jam pumps along with both acoustic and electronic elements while the vocals lead the charge.

With the vibrant production and accessible lyrics, the new single brings the perfect blend of catchy melody and self-loathing.  Produced by Larry Hibbitt (Nothing But Thieves, Sundara Karma & Marmozets), and mixed by Sweden’s Joel Humlén, “Halo”, is a well crafted, repeat-worthy jam that I will without a doubt be rocking heavily for some time.
