SWEETS Leaves Us Itching for More After Dropping "Crack Baby"

Not since the Punk Rock era has Manchester, UK seen such raw antiestablishment energy as delivered by Newcastle born madman, Sweets. Through his razor sharps lyrics, Sweets offers an honest and unfiltered perspective on youth culture in modern day Britain and backs it up with an unmatched grit that we can't help but fall for.

Building up to the release of his new mixtape, “Tension Free,” Sweets landed in our inbox recently with his latest single “Crack Baby,” and we'd be lying if we said we were instantly hooked. A scathing critique of Social Media and the negative effects often associated with constantly seeking validation through “likes” and “replays”, his first and only single of 2022 is without a doubt one of the coolest, hardest and catchiest tunes that we have come across this year.

Sweets style is totally unique and with one listen it is easy to hear that he is far from a carbon copy. While I listen to hundreds of submissions a week, I haven't heard anything like, "Crack Baby," in quite some time - if dare I say, ever. With a driving, distorted baseline slick flows and an unnerving energy throughout, before I was finished with my first listen, I was ready to go to war. His Punk Rock energy mixed with a Hip Hop delivery is nothing short of addictive and this is one track I can’t seem to get enough and I can't wait to see what else Sweets has to offer.
