Synth Pop Artist LUMiN Introduces New Sounds To Fans With His Latest Single “The Worst Thing&#
LA-based pop artist LUMiN is absolutely in a lane of his own. Single after single turns into hit after hit, delivering fresh sounds to fans from across the globe. His new single entitled “The Worst Thing” dropped today; it introduces an upbeat synth arrangement that brings a fresh approach to nostalgic sounds, created in part by co-producer Blake Healy of American Pop-Rock band Metro Station. The song introduces a fun, danceable feeling right from the start which serves as a contrast to his somber, self-reflective lyrics.
“You are the worst thing that’s happened to me / And I thank you for taking the place that I was saving for me”
LUMiN meeting his worst enemy quickly restored his faith in himself to be a good influence on his own decisions. Whomever has has influenced LUMiN to write “The Worst Thing” was clearly an uninvited energy. He does everything he can not to trap himself in this person’s very obvious misery. The unique thing about LUMiN is, he has an ability to pair incredibly lighthearted tunes with darker, relatable lyrics. The contrast is pleasing and reflective of the complexities of human nature. *Spoiler Alert* As we would hope for, the song has a happy ending 🙂
“Please believe me, I would only leave you if I felt like it was necessary for my mental health / And now I’m at a breakthrough, I hate you.”
LUMiN has premiered music on Los Angeles’s own KCRW, followed by headlining shows at LA’s Viper Room, The Satellite, & The Peppermint Club. His previous singles were recognized by Kiss FM and Spotify’s own New Music Friday. Upon joining O.A.R on their Just Like Paradise tour, LUMiN released his fourth single “Bury You Deeper” which was added to the B-Sides by Hits Daily Double. After resigning his publishing to Sony ATV in 2019, he closed the year with the release of his 5th single, mixed by legendary Mark Needham who is known for his work with The Killers, Imagine Dragons, and Fleetwood Mac. This single was followed by his two biggest shows to date, a headlining set at LA’s Troubadour and the first-ever LUMiN’s Bloody Hell-O-Ween at Boardners Hollywood. 2020 is the beginning of a new era for LUMiN. He is starting this decade off strong with the release of “The Worst Thing,” his first music video, and his debut EP “LUMiNADE.”
