Vic August Gets Ready to Drop New EP ‘Truths’ [VIDEO]

At just 17 years old, Australian artist Vic August has already reached some major heights.  Beyond showing up regularly in posts and playlists on RockDafuqOut, he has already been featured on Complex AU, Purple Sneakers and Triple J’s ‘2018 Unearthed High Yearbook’ – while simultaneously earning the cover of Spotify’s ‘Mellow Styles’ playlist, appearing on their ‘A1 Hip-Hop,’ ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘R&B Feels’ playlists.  His acclaimed, “Glass House 2”, mixtape debuted at #8 on the Australian iTunes Hip-Hop charts and his follow up single and label debut, “Bandits”, has already amassed over half a million plays.

Recording his first single at just 14, Vic August has been growing his fanbase online ever since.  With his signature, smooth, ice-cold auto-tuned delivery, incredibly catchy vocal melodies, and undeniable swag, The Darwin based young gun has quickly become one of the Northern Territories most exciting artists to watch.  Now preparing to release his new EP, “Truths”, on WVS in February of 2019, Vic has begun to unleash some of the projects singles.

Most recently has unleashed the video for his single, “Withdrawals”, on which he crafts a dreamy and groovy jam.  Maintaining his Hip Hop/R&B flavor, Vic August hops on top of a funky and danceable production that features rolling basslines and retro guitar rhythms to deliver a vibey, chill, pumping release.  While I have been a fan for a minute, this is for sure my personal favorite release to date.  About the inspiration about the tune Vic August says, “When someone says they’re going through withdrawals, they’re usually talking about relapsing from a bad habit or drug, I took that perspective and flipped it into referencing a fresh departure.
