Sydney DJ/producer What So Not has been pretty dominant in the EDM scene for the last several years… and for good reason.
His top notch production and instantly recognizable vibes have made everything he drops resonate in the scene and I’m sure that will not be changing anytime soon. Now in the midst of his American Co-Headline tour with Baauer, WSN has just dropped a video for his tune, “Better“, featuring LPX, and it is a trippy, sci-fi inspired, digital montage.
About the video, director Mafalda Millies says, “Playing off the premise “I’m Better Than…”, this music video features Emoh and Lizzy captured in a visually oversaturated cyber void, dominated with footage surrounding the notions of temptation and seduction; of simulacra and simulations. All visuals are layered and combined with animated, digital graphics, pie charts, numbers—An overload to the senses highlighting the degree to which we are consumed, distracted and controlled by the flood of content directed at us daily. This collage-based video is made up of both, original footage and found footage; and was very much inspired by artist Stan VanDerBeek’s “Movie Mural” (1968).”
