LACES Makes Return to RDFO with ‘someday is not tonight’

Jessica Vaughn, formerly known as Charlotte Sometimes and currently performing under the moniker LACES, has recently come back after an extended hiatus with the release of her new single, “someday is not tonight”, co-written and produced by Kyle McCammon from the LA based band Lean.

Based in LA, the career singer/songwriter has already seen plenty of success up to this pint in her career.  From being featured on season two of NBC’s The Voice, to seeing her debut album, “Waves and the Both of Us”, peak at #145 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart, LACES always seems to have her pulse on what is hot.  Beyond her personal releases, songwriting and vocals have been featured on The Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place, Station 19, The Ellen Show, World of Dance, Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, and in content for numerous Hasbro brands. Her music has been featured on Netflix, Discovery Channel, ABC, NBC, Fuse, MTV, Vh1, The Sundance Channel, The CW, and A&E.

Now with her latest single, her first since 2016, LACES is ready to re-introduce herself to the masses.  On, “someday is not tonight”, she delivers a touching, emotional performance over a minimal, somber production.  With her vocals sitting front and center, delicate keys and deep Electronic basses fill the audible space.  The deep verses quickly give way to a more inspiring break where melodic chants and a bit of pump come into play.  In “someday is not tonightLACES is trying to convince herself, and her peers, that it’s okay to not be okay. The song is a reflection of the current state of the world and society’s ongoing struggle with human vulnerability.
