Sandra’s Wedding Proudly Present Their Second Album, ‘Frame Yourself’

This three-piece who hail from the North-East, UK are delivering sharp indie rock-pop that’s melodic and memorable. A depressed builder, a couple staggering home amidst yet another argument, wannabe football hooligans hitting the town, desperate prayers for freedom should their other half have a car crash; ‘Frame Yourself’ is a series of domestics set to the band’s trademark jangle-pop sound.

With powerful lead vocals from frontman Joe, which are reminiscent of Morrissey, and lyrics which are relatable and poetic all at once, this is an album with something for everyone. This is a band who are masterful songwriters and instrumentalists to boot.

Just a listen to opening track ‘Can’t Look At You For Crying’ will tell you that. A haunting guitar riff and insatiable groove matched with the heartfelt delivery in the vocals has you grasped to the album 1 minute in. ‘Frame Yourself’ has a total of 12 tracks and was recorded at Element Studios, Hull.

We enjoy the tongue-in-cheek attitude of ‘Penguin Joke’ with Arctic Monkeys style rhythm contrasted with the more soothing ‘Villain Of The Piece’, a moment of reflection halfway through the album. A stand-out track for us is the smooth ‘Sarcastic Kiss’ featuring guest vocals from Emily Render.

The debut single release from Frame Yourself, ‘Lip Service’, was named BBC Radio York Introducing’s ‘Track of The Week’ upon release and has since been one of their Tracks of 2020 as well as other nationwide radio play. The single features the renowned percussionist Gary Hammond and explores the heady mix of insecure males, mega pixel cameras and an apparently captive audience.

This is the second album from Sandra’s Wedding, and follows on from 2017’s Northern Powerhouse and the 2018 EP ‘Good Morning, Bad Blood.’ The band appreciates downloads via Bandcamp HERE.
