Since buzz-worth AUS young gun Vic August first came into my radar last year, I have been thoroughly hooked on his smooth delivery, vibey melodies and overall swag – did I mention he’s only like 18?
Most recently Vic August unleashed his new EP, “Truths”, after priming the pump with 3 stand out singles, “Bandit”, “Withdrawals”, and , “Wire Tap”, all combined pulling in close to 2M streams before the EP hit the streets. It was the singles early success that lead to Vic August hitting #1 on the Australian Hip Hop charts, helping to further cement his spot as one of the most exciting new urban artists in the scene.
About the EP, Vic says, “Truths was the first time I set out to create a project with no title for the body in mind. I recorded around 40 tracks and ended up cutting them down to 16, then cutting those down to 7, with the remaining 9 to be put on a free mixtape supporting the main project. ‘Truths’ as a song stood out to me the most, and it felt like the right title for the EP. Being honest and open is what I base my music on, regardless of how sweet or sour my realities are.”
