Yoe Mase Reveals New Album ‘Soldier’

Since the release of his debut album, “Life In Boxes”, NYC artist Yoe Mase has been turning heads at nearly every turn.  While so many new artists try to replicate the here and now, Yoe is looking to push boundaries, set precedents and pioneer new sounds – Yoe Mase is creating music on his own terms.

A recent RockDafuqOut JAM OF THE WEEK honoree, I have been overly impressed by Yoe Mase since he first came onto my radar with, “Falling”.

Before I even had a chance to share that tune, I quickly found the follow up, “Prove Me Wrong”, in my inbox.  Once again Yoe Mase had me hanging onto every word.

With the promise of a new album on the way, I patiently waited for its release – and lucky for us it is OUT NOW.  His new project, “Soldier”, is a 10-track Indie/Electronic gem that sees Yoe releasing his most captivating project to date.  To add to the hype around the albums release, the new single, “Homeless”, is being highlighted, taking the project up a notch with a Future Bass inspired drop. The dynamic release opens with pulsating synths and distorted strings while Yoe Mase sets the tone with his smooth and touching vocals.  As his voice swells with intensity, the production also slowly builds, leading to the unexpected, yet utterly powerful drop.  What serves as the most EDM leaning track on the project, Yoe Mase is once again able to flex his ability to rock with nearly no limitations – “Homeless”, is emotional, dance floor friendly and totally catchy.

I know the year isn’t over yet, but I’m going to say that Yoe Mase is going to end up on a lot of ‘artist to watch’ lists… He’s already on mine.  Make sure you check out, “Soldier”, it’s well worth your time.
