Tobiahs Brings Fresh Vocals to Late Night Grooves with ‘To Be Honest’

Based in Melbourne, 20 year old Tobiahs is without a doubt an artist to watch from what happens to be one of my personal favorite markets for new music – AUSTRALIA.

Initially launching his artist project with a string of remixes, Tobiahs quickly garnered early support from hometown hero’s What So Not and Hayden James.  Combining elements of House, Pop and Garage, Tobiahs delivers his unique vision of lyric driven dance music.  Officially going commercial just last year with his debut single, “Through to You”, Tobiahs already seems to be catching on – racking up over 1M streams on Spotify alone.

On his latest tune, “To Be Honest”, Tobiahs once again a stuns with a haunting and groovy vibe.  About the release he says, “I had been going to clubs at the time (of writing) and was really looking for something to encapsulate that feeling … I feel this song relates mostly to young love. House clubs aren’t really lyric driven and I liked the idea of someone being able to relate to the lyrics of a song whilst being in that environment.

To say he nailed exactly what he was going for would be an understatement.  While the new tune is centered around the vocals, the underlying production is dark and dirty – making sure it can work in the clubs from open to close.  A solid arrangement, great mix and driving groove make this one work on all fronts.

Subtle melodies couple with deep atmospheric elements, subby basslines and thumping drums beneath the stunning and enchanting vocals.  Tobiahs once again brings his lyrical dance vision to light, capturing wistful feelings of young love and desire over a soundscape blending Pop and House.  This is a gem.
